Our Affect On The Environment And The Lies We Are Told

If you listen to and follow the mainstream media, you will no doubt have heard Government officials and so called world leaders, talk about how the Climate is changing and how we, the people need to change the way that we live.

I agree that the climate is changing, but not in the ways that they like to talk about The earth goes through natural cycles, for example every 11 years or so, we go from a solar maximum to a solar minimal. These are natural occurrences, that happen regardless of what we do.

image.png

The seasons definitely seem to be shifting these last few years, with the winter season coming later and later.

I have no doubt that we do affect the environment, especially when you look at the amount of waste that is being produced, the many old growth forests that have been cut down and the amount of pollution that is being released into the atmosphere.

But many of the things that are being pushed, i.e rising seas levels, well that just isn't happening and if it really is a concern, then why do so many world leaders and ex world leaders have multi million dollar sea front properties. Suddenly, things don't seem to be adding up.

I think, that we each need to take responsibility for the way in which we live. That we could al do with living more consciously.

But if you really, want to look at what effects the planets ecosystem the most, it is the huge corporations, the mining companies, the pharmaceutical companies with their incinerators. Yet the responsibility is being passed onto us.

Whilst they talk about the need for us to take note of our carbon foot print, the same is not expected of those who hold most of the world's wealth, monetary wealth that is. As they use their private jets, to attend conferences to discuss how best to get us the common people, to succumb to their draconian rules.

I'm not saying we shouldn't look at our lifestyles, I already said that we all could do with living more consciously. But can we please, just have honest conversations about the injustice that is being done. Yes we can recycle more and travel less.

But what about nuclear plants, that uses millions of liters of water each day to clean their reactors, or the fashion industry which accounts for at least 20% of global water pollution.

If every person, who is being instructed to change their way of life, did. Do you really believe that it would make a huge difference. It would make a difference for sure, but for maximum impact we really need to look at the way in which all the major corporations are using the earths resources.

We certainly need to get rid of private jets for a start and begin to hold the wealthiest among us, accountable as well. To move away from this culture of guilt and shame, that has us looking down upon those who live around us and instead direct our energy towards those who are having the biggest impact on the environment.

To wake up to the many big deceptions.

I live a minimalist lifestyle, because I don't agree with the way in which society is governed. How it continues to feed the hand of the rich, whilst taking so many liberties away from the rest of us and making us feeling guilty, about the conditions that they have forced us to live with.

I also live this way, so that I can have a more minimal impact on the environment, I strive for a small footprint. Living minimally to me, is a mindset, an understanding, that everything we do has an effect on nature. It is a desire to tread lightly, to connect more deeply and broaden our awareness.

For things to change, on a global scale, we need to face the truths ( some very uncomfortable truths) of how this world is being run, the human world that is. Because it is to the natural world, that we should be looking towards, to guide us. To really understand the natural earth cycles, so that we can adapt better and use our resources more optimally.

We have so much to learn, if only, we would slow down, observe and listen!

I worry more about cleaning up after myself. Best way to save the planet is for you to do a little bit yourself go plant a tree. Pick up garbage on the beach..

You can also teach your dog to bury his poop which my puppy dog is super smart and we have definitely gotten that taken care of.

i agree we need to clean up after ourselves, but if our consumption is of products which harm people and planet, it is as important to change our sources of consumption, imo.

The smallest ones are the biggest ones.

The big movement won't make much change but world wide people helping.

But thanks for the dismissal.

I wasn't dismissing you sorry if it came across that way, everyone taking responsibility for the way they live is a huge part of creating change x

I don't know enough about it all to weigh in with any authority, but the corporations are financed by us, as are the governments. Us cleaning up after ourselves or even living a minimalistic lifestyle will only have so much affect, unless it is the kind of thing that shuts down the market for the retail, mining and energy corps. What are the chances? Perhaps however, living this lifestyle might not do much to the meta, but it can make a life feel valuable and meaningful for the individual or small community.

We are all doomed as a species, no matter what we do, because nothing lasts forever. But, a meaningful life is within all of our individual grasps.

Yes living meaningfully is really important, that alone would change things drastically. I am an optimist and will always look for ways forward. It would be wonderful if more people realized how much power we actually do have. If we all got together and brought things to a stand still, because yes all of these corporations are funded by us and many of us work in them. One can dream xxxx

things don't seem to be adding up.

only if you actually think about those things. So just stop thinking! That's the ticket. I think Yuval Harari has actually said something along those lines, that reasoning is a myth or something.

Not thinking, is not an option for me. I want to know. Yes it would be easier not to think about it, but nothing changes xxx

Bravo @trucklife-family! I used to buy into all the propaganda around the environment, until I started looking more deeply at what's actually going on in the world. As you know, I also live a very minimalist lifestyle as well (living barefooted and naked way out in the jungle in an off-grid, food-forest intentional community), because I see what the 'system' is, and I want nothing to do with it. I'm far more interested in creating our own parallel systems to make the present slave system obsolete. Thank you again for a brilliant post! 😁🙏💚✨🤙

I guess you wanted to write "effect" in the title.

This article needs a louder volume and I agree with on the fact that the society has been deceived by our so called leaders.

The real damage to the ecosystem is coming from a particular set of people but another set has to take the blame for it. Here in Nigeria, the wealthy are sand-filling waterfronts just to build luxury houses knowing fully well that they are causing damage but the masses take the blame at the end of it all.

We all have our parts to play individually but the real culprit of these problems should be tackled appropriately.

Thank you @george-dee, its important to try and get these conversations started, only then can we think about change happening xxxx

Great image about "The Savage".

I really appreciate your post from a factual and uncommon slant.

I live this way, so that I can have a more minimal impact on the environment, I strive for a small footprint. Living minimally to me, is a mindset, an understanding, that everything we do has an effect on nature.

This point caught my eye, and I'm hoping that you'll have an input on the next topic that will be out in a few hours... about minimalism or simple living; there's a thin line between the two, and your point above here is the essence where the difference lines.

Thanks so much @millycf1976, this is such a big topic and we all have our own opinions about it. I really would like more people to question what is happening in the world.
I look forward to the next question xxxx

I have already told you that I love reading your posts, you give me reflections, thoughts and new visions.

Personal responsibility is always important, and I also believe that by maintaining certain behaviors, in addition to helping the environment, we also follow healthy lifestyles.

The fact remains, as you say well, that it is those who govern, the large companies and multinationals who must first take charge of the change as they have the greatest impact on the environment.

Thanks for making me think.
I hug you!

You are right, governments and media always tell us that we have to change to take care of the planet, but they do the opposite, every day they destroy more and more our only planet we have to live, thanks for your post.
