⚛️Russia is the only country in the world with a nuclear icebreaker fleet

Since 2018, the Rosatom State Corporation has been vested with the functions of the infrastructure operator of the Northern Sea Route (NSR) and is responsible for the organization of navigation on the NSR, the construction of infrastructure facilities, navigation and hydrographic support and the navigation safety system in difficult Arctic conditions.

Today, the Russian nuclear icebreaker fleet includes eight vessels. Of these, seven are nuclear icebreakers and one unique transport ship with a nuclear power plant - the container ship Sevmorput.
