The Proton Community Approved a 14 Billion XPR Plan to launch a Decentralized Development Fund

On Feb 12, 2023 The proposal - PROPOSAL - was successfully approved by block producers and fourteen (14) Billion token XPR has been minted to fund Proton ecosystem.

Since the launch of Proton in 2020, it has created a global community with world-class products in Payment, Social, Commerce, NFT, DeFi. Some of the products/services the core team from Metallicus and partners have build for the past 2 years includes:

• A Wallet & Authenticator (WebAuth.com)
• A Decentralized exchange protocol (ProtonDEX.com)

Under the leadership of Marshall Hayner, co-founder of the Metallicus, the team worked on a plan called "The Road to Becoming a Top Crypto"and proposed to the network and the community to Mint 14 Billion XPR tokens to help relaunch Proton Working Proposal System (WPS).

For the period of 2023-2026, the core team proposed a roadmap with products/services to be built on Proton blockchain. Some of includes:

According to the proposal, the fund will be distributed as such:

• Core Developer (Metallicus): 10 Billion XPR
• Community Support: 2 Billion XPR
• Marketing Support: 1.5 Billion XPR
• Block Producer Support: 500 Million XPR.

All grants funds (community, marketing, BP) would be held in Consortium MSIG account committewps to be granted out based on DAO approved proposals. Metallicus grant funds would be held in xprtreasury account for the next 3 years and would be spent at their discretion.

Proton Blockchain is mainly built for payment and Decentralized Finance (DeFi). It uses DPoS consensus where token holders vote for Block producers to validate transactions and secure the network. Proton shares the same code base and features with Antelope chains like EOS, WAX, TELOS or UX.
