Launched in January 21, Ordinal is a protocol that enables digital assets to be inscribed on satoshis (sats), the smallest Bitcoin denomination. Ordinal inscriptions are like NFTs on Bitcoin that store data on-chain. This data can include text, JPEGs, audio or videos files.

Since it launch, A new standard BRC-20 that makes it possible to create a fungible token on Bitcoin was introduced, following the steps of ERC-20 standard that brought the creations of fungible tokens on Ethereum.

The most known platform for inscribing Ordinals and BRC-20 tokens is Unisat.
