Gelungener Auftakt von Bitcoin Talents

Puh, es gab heute viele Infos zu Beginn aber der Kick-off war gut strukturiert, mit einer sehr guten Einführung von Philipp Sandner zu Bitcoin.
Die Teilnehmer kommen tatsächlich von überall her. War heute zB. mit einem indischen Manager von Siemens Energy im Break out Room (lief über Zoom) und eine Frau kam aus Dubai und ist im Reisebusiness.
Jetzt geht es an das erste Assignment zum Whitepaper von Satoshi sowie Wallet & Transaktionen. Da habe ich ja schon Vorwissen, also dürfte das klar gehen.

Takeaway des Tages

Prof. Sandner (sinngemäß): Bitcoin ist ein „Winner takes it all“, da es mit seiner Sonderstellung als Store of Value auf Vertrauen beruht, dieses Zeit braucht um sich auszubilden und daher kaum ein neuer Konkurrenz-Coin den Vorsprung bis heute aufholen kann. Anders ist es bei Smart Contract Plattformen wie Ethereum, Solana, Polkadot (oder auch Hive - meine Ergänzung). Hier geht es um Marktanteile, die untereinander aufgeteilt werden.

Successful kick-off of Bitcoin Talents.

Phew, there was a lot of info at the beginning today but the kick-off was well structured with a very good introduction to Bitcoin by Philipp Sandner.
The participants actually come from all over. For example, today I was in the break out room with an Indian manager from Siemens Energy (ran via Zoom) and a woman came from Dubai and is in the travel business.
Now it's time for the first assignment on Satoshi's whitepaper and wallet & transactions. I already have some knowledge about that, so that should be fine.

Takeaway of the day

Prof. Sandner (correspondingly): Bitcoin is a "winner takes it all" because as this unique store of value it is based on trust, this takes time to form and therefore hardly any new competitor coin can catch up with the lead until today. It is different with smart contract platforms like Ethereum, Solana, Polkadot (or even Hive - my addition). Here, it's about market shares that are divided among each other.
