It's Raining In England
We are always complaining here in England. When it's hot, it's too hot. When it's cold, it's too cold. When it's not raining, oh, it's not raining. When it does rain, omg, why is it raining so much? We moan a lot, about everything. I don't know why, but it's just part of the culture I guess.
We've had a dry spell this summer that led to a hose ban, amongst other things, but now the rain has returned. So far this month, it's rained at least ever other day, which is very welcome.
In early summer, it was so dry that my lawn was dry and brown. Now, it's the lushest green it's been all year. The trees are starting to lose their leaves, but that's natural, being autumn and all. Earlier in the year, they also did lose their leaves due to the dryness. It was all a bit worrying.
I'm not complaining about this rain though, I know it's good for the environment. Our water people still think the hose ban should be on, since the reservoirs are yet to replenish but, at least, the plants are happy.
We've had some flash floods in my area when the rain came down like it does in the tropics. Huge volumes dumped down in a a short period of time so the drainage system didn't have enough time to work.
That's another issue actually. The drainage system. A lot of it has been blocked by the rubbish people keep chucking on the floor. The biodegradable stuff, like half-eaten fruits , at least decompose and clear off after a while. The plastic, on the other hand, never does and can cause a proper blockage, needing the authorities to dig up the roads to clear them. As if the disruptions weren't bad enough when it rains like this, having to dig up roads creates even more frustration for everyone, especially drivers that end up sitting in traffic.
Bottom line - it's supposed to be raining in England, especially at this time of the year. It's inconvenient if one has to go out, since umbrellas don't actually work (who invented such a terrible tool? lol), and my shoes get really soaked since they're not fit for purpose, but I am grateful for the rain.☂️
Peace & Love,
Adé
The rains have not stopped so far this year in a good part of the world, where I live the rains have wreaked havoc on the access roads and some areas are even under water.
OMG. I'm hearing this from a lot of folks. Stay safe 🙏
It's been on and off. I got soaked on a couple of runs this week, but it was okay for parkrun today.
There is construction for a new road near here and there are small lakes where they have been digging. The clay soil does not drain well. Our grass does need cutting again. I need to wait for a dry spell to do that and it's raining again now.

Yeah mine too. Makes me wish I had a petrol/diesel lawn mower. Even when it's dry I feel like the cold still somehow makes it seem wet anyway.
My mower is petrol, so I could use it when it's wet. Need to do it before it gets much longer.
