15% APR Leasing Out Hive Power?

avatar

Are the "good days" for leasing out HP over?

You might not even have heard that it was possible to do so. But there are many accounts on Hive (former Bid Bots) that give you a return for delegating HP to them. Normally this is lower than the average curation rewards for users which is about 8.5%. But there is a better way of getting a return for leasing out HP!

Leasing out HP on Dlease is a much better way if one wants to earn some passive rewards. It is a market for HP on which you can either request a lease or give out a lease for a fixed amount of APR. I think many did not know about this, since up to several weeks ago it was often possible to get APRs of about 14-18%! But now this has gone down to abour 10-11% which is still not bad considering that it is about $2-3 above of what you would get for curating posts.

But I have to stress here that it is generally always better to curate for the Hive ecosystem. Leasing out your HP to someone means that you literally give your stake/power to someone else. This person can then do with it whatever he/she wants. The problem with this is that this generally centralizes power and therefore reduces the distribution for Hive rewards in the ecosystem. But we actually want the rewards from the rewards pool to spread to as many users as possible. So when you are delegating your HP to someone, just keep that in mind. But that of course does not mean that one cannot use multiple systems at once of which Dlease could be one of.

There is also the option of leasing out HP over at Hive Engine. For some reason the APR is generally much lower here and there are much less active leases. I suppose it is because it is still relatively less known that one can do it over there which is also why I want to raise awareness for these markets.

Decline in APR because of a decline in Bots?

I think I also know why the APR has dropped so significantly in recent weeks. Since February 1st it seems that bots have been on the decline for Splitnerlands since it is much less rewarding to have bot farms over there now. The accounts requesting HP at high APR apparently were often bot farms that could make an even higher return...

Dlease is cool! Used to use it a lot, but now I just delegate to @leo.voter and earn 16% that’s way.

It's communicated 16% but the actual APR is only ~12%

Well from the angle of a newbie , I would say the leasing of hivepower have really helped me , without the hivepower I leased at the moment , I will not be able to engage with others the way I am doing it right now... Before now it used to tell me I have low resource credits whenever I try to engage with others , but now it is not happening anymore and I am excited to be active on this amazing platform.

you can also get an RC delegation (resource credits) which is almost free. I will send you some now so you won't have the problem anymore

Earlier I used to work on statement and when hive came. I worked on it for some time and then for some reason I quit and now again when I started two months ago I didn't even have HP so much It was more of a problem so I couldn't post or comment on people's posts. Then I remembered that a friend of mine was also working on it, so I asked him and he gave me the delegation so that I could comment on people's posts. My effort is to collect 1000 HP and delete the SSG community because I post about gold everyday.

check out how the older steem fork golos.id just pays its users in stakin rewards at hitgehr apr, and u just get tip balance and pay peopel semi liquid tips u have to eitehr power up and then back down over 4 weeks or tip to someoene lse its pretty cool. cantd ownvote a liquid tip cuz its just ur staking rewards coming in ,

See it solves a huge problem

Imagine ur Hivepower that came in was tippable, peopel who got it STILL had to poower it down (after first powering up to move from tip balanbce to hivepower balance which is EXACTLY how golos works check this wallet page out read the descirptions, thjeir reward pool much smaller and they just use their golospopwer for witness and propsoal votinG! and peopel get liqudi tip rewards and higehr staking rewards in a liquid staked token semi liquid, u can tip powered up tokens its so fuckin cool

image.png

look they even have a pegf or HIVE and steem and btc and usdt in their golsodex an internal market like if we had hive engine tokens on layer 1 inside the hive / hbd market!!!
