Nuevos emprendimientos turísticos
Un par de días atrás junto a mi amigo Horacio decidimos ir a pescar bajo el puente que cruza el río Futaleufú un kilómetro antes de la frontera con Chile. Allí existen un par de buenas playas con correderas y pozones ideales para capturar algunas truchas de buen porte, ya hemos ido con anterioridad y siempre con buenos resultados.
Nuestras esposas decidieron acompañarnos y se llevaron reposeras, sombrilla, mesa y todos los implementos necesarios para pasar una buena tarde, no faltaban el burako, el mate y las facturas.
Un par de kilómetros antes de llegar a nuestro destino nos sorprendió un cartel que indicaba el acceso al camping “La Balsa”, un emprendimiento nuevo recientemente inaugurado y del cual no teníamos noticias.
Ingresamos para ver que tal era, pensamos que sería una buena opción para las chicas porque en su cartel informativo decía que tenía baños y una proveeduría, algo muy cómodo para pasar una tarde de calor y sol radiante.
Resultamos gratamente sorprendidos, había baños de excelente calidad y limpieza, un restaurante con proveeduría muy bien provista, 20 cabañas, zonas de parque y bosque con mesas, bancos y parrillas y hasta una pileta de natación y una sala de primeros auxilios. Todo eso a excepción de las cabañas, podía ser utilizado por la módica suma diaria de 1000 pesos por personas, es decir menos de 3 dólares.
Las cabañas son de 3 tipos, unos dormis sin baño, otras con baño incorporado y las más grandes son las que poseen un espacio desayunador y con vista privilegiada al río. Todas tienen aire acondicionado. Los precios por día también bastante económicos, las pequeñas 10.000 pesos o 25 dólares, las intermedias 12.000 pesos o 30 dólares y las más grandes 15.000 pesos o 40 dólares.
La pileta de natación de excelente calidad con un entarimado de madera muy cómodo a su alrededor y una pequeña cascada para diversión de los más pequeños. Lamentamos no haber llevado nuestros bañadores.
Pasamos una hermosa tarde pese a que la pesca estuvo floja, principalmente porque el río tiene una corriente fluctuante debido a la represa que libera más o menos agua dependiendo de la necesidad de generación y la demanda eléctrica que en verano suele ser muy alta. Estaba muy crecido y prácticamente no podíamos sobrepasar la línea de los árboles vadeando ya que a profundidad no nos permitía.
Hicimos una pequeña excursión hasta nuestro destino original y también allí la cantidad de agua había borrado las playas tan cómodas que siempre utilizamos, la corriente estaba tan fuerte que sabíamos sería imposible pescar, en esas condiciones los peces se guarecen en las orillas más reparadas y no se alimentan hasta que el caudal vuelve a la normalidad.
Pero el descubrimiento de ese bello camping fue toda una alegría y saber que se progresa mucho en el aspecto turístico y de servicios es una noticia importante en un país donde todo parece ir hacia atrás.
New tourism ventures
A couple of days ago, together with my friend Horacio, we decided to go fishing under the bridge that crosses the Futaleufú River one kilometer before the border with Chile. There are a couple of good beaches with sliders and pools ideal for catching some large trout, we have gone before and always with good results.
Our wives decided to accompany us and they took lounge chairs, an umbrella, a table, and all the necessary implements to spend a good afternoon, there was no shortage of burako, mates, and bills.
A couple of kilometers before reaching our destination, we were surprised by a sign indicating access to the “La Balsa” campsite, a new venture recently opened and of which we had no news.
We went in to see what it was like, we thought it would be a good option for the girls because, on its informative sign, it said that it had bathrooms and a grocery store, something very comfortable to spend a hot afternoon and radiant sun.
We were pleasantly surprised, there were bathrooms of excellent quality and cleanliness, a restaurant with a well-stocked grocery store, 20 cabins, park and forest areas with tables, benches, and grills, and even a swimming pool and a first aid room. All this, with the exception of the cabins, could be used for the modest daily sum of 1000 pesos per person, that is, less than 3 dollars.
The cabins are of 3 types, some dormies without bathrooms, others with bathrooms, and the largest are those with a breakfast area and a privileged view of the river. They all have air conditioning. The prices per day are also quite cheap, the small ones are 10,000 pesos or 25 dollars, the intermediate ones are 12,000 pesos or 30 dollars and the largest are 15,000 pesos or 40 dollars.
The swimming pool is of excellent quality with a very comfortable wooden deck around it and a small waterfall for the fun of the little ones. We're sorry we didn't bring our swimsuits.
We spent a beautiful afternoon despite the fact that fishing was weak, mainly because the river has a fluctuating current due to the dam that releases more or less water depending on the need for generation and electricity demand, which in summer is usually very high. It was very overgrown and we practically couldn't get past the tree line wading since the depth didn't allow us.
We made a short excursion to our original destination and there, too, the amount of water had erased the beaches that were so comfortable that we always use, the current was so strong that we knew it would be impossible to fish, in these conditions the fish take shelter on the most sheltered shores and they don't they are fed until the flow returns to normal.
But the discovery of this beautiful campsite was a real joy and knowing that much progress is being made in terms of tourism and services is important news in a country where everything seems to be going backward.
