Just let you know that no matter this is my personal opinion, I respect if you have a completly different one.

censorship resistance

Every day I see in Twitter narratives about Hive focused in this 2 words censorship resistance and if you want, one more, decentralized.

Let's first talk about censorship resistance

In my opinion is completely exaggerated the focus in this sentence, to me it seems we are selling snake oil.

Why? For 2 main reasons

1 - People (outside) are not stupid, where there are humans there are some sort of censorship, one example is the downvotes (I'm ok with downvotes), if you downvote someone's post because you think it's over rewarded, you are in some way practicing some sort of censorship, you can even tell it is positive to community and I even can agree, it continues being a censorship.

2 - People don't care as much as you think about censorship, I can give you an example, a guy with lot of followers in YouTube had his account blocked twice, twice I saw, a lot of Hive people in Twitter, including me, saying "come to Hive", and he came, twice. As soon as YouTube unlock his account we never saw him again in the Hive, Stockholm syndrome? Don't think so, people want to be where other people are.
Hive don't need to sell snake oil. We might have less censorship than others but we are not the last cookie in the box and we don't need to focus on that. Hive needs better Apps! People deal better with censorship than with non attractive Apps.

decentralized

Is another word over exaggerated, I think all of you use centralized Apps and sites, because no alternatives or other explanation, you deal with that.
To prove that we are decentralized we just have to prove that we are, there is no need to go around shouting everywhere, if only because we are not completely. In my opinion DHF is not decentralized, don't know exactly how we can improve but maybe some of you have an idea.

Please :) people are not stupid, don't walk around trying to sell the paradise. We are not a cult!

Thaaaa, stupidity is appropriating at an alarming pace. Smart people die at an alarming pace. They consume too many calories by thinking.

I think you're on to something. What's resistant to censorship? The next generation of Hive Apps will be. They are coming up right now and meanwhile what's going on is a lot of ducktape.

No that's a real thing, I just threw that into this comment. Smart animals usually die in a natural environment because they become ineffective. A smart lion is just not ferocious enough.

But I mean it. I use PeakD but Open Peak Project will be the real deal. I play SPL, but the fully decentralized version of it will be the real deal. Three Speak is up, but the Speak Network will be the real deal. 20+1 Witness is nice, but an automatically scaling and rotating witness system like on Honeycomb for Hive Layer2 is better. Shit's getting better, have some faith in the right people and do what you think is the right think to do.

I share to twitter simply to onboard to Hive and agree I have gone to promoting Hive projects to onboard and will try to sell the snake oil less in the future!

I love your work. What you are doing here is amazing. No word.

With your influence if we could organize a frame for you leading Hive @workshops and @hackathons and bring it beyond of Hive with @medias-europe and @medias-afrique then many people could learn how to improve their design quality for their own Hive project, their community or themselves. Seeing Doze design impress. Watching a generation of hivers learning and with a will to raise their performance to your quality level would be even greater for all of us and for the new comers. The community would definitely even be more thankful as new comers would feel the urge of the old timers to dedicate to what they can share rather than what they can show off - Just an idea.

Meanwhile you can talk with @hivecreators, they are payed to make graphics to Hive and can hire graphics designers to do that, I'm sure they can help you.

We are here to help.

If we tweet or promote Hive we are only trying to help the person to be protected from the dilemma he/she is facing on other non-censorship-resistant platforms.

I don't think downvotes fall in the category of censorship but maybe we have a different perspective on it at least their posts/account is not getting deleted as they experience on the web2 and we want to help them with this problem.
