A platform with inspirational content about doing things by yourself is a very valuable platform in our opinion. You find new ideas to improve your personal life by browsing HIVE and you can find new people with the same passion as you to encourage each other. Also DIY articles can be an entry point for people from outside the blockchain while they search the internet for inspiration and solutions.

If you add the fact that upcycling and repairing projects save the environment (more on that later) makes it even more valuable because you provide instructions on how to passively take care of nature with your DIY tutorials while actively earning HIVE. Win-Win we would say ;)

A few people asked us what upcycling in our target niches mean so we want to give you a short explanation before we dive deeper: Upcycling aka creative reuse, is the process of taking materials or products that are no longer needed or are broken and repurposing them into something new. The end result is often more valuable and that's why it is called UPcycling and not REcycling.

Upcycling reduces waste and conserves natural resources: By finding new uses for materials that would otherwise be discarded, upcycling helps to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills and reduces the demand for new resources to be extracted from the earth. Already existing Garbage patches are scary as hell and we all should give our best to no increase their size as it happened over the past decades.
By upcycling you save greenhouse gas emissions, conserving energy, and preserve natural habitats on your own! Upcycling is also creative and fun, as it allows people to use their imagination and skills to repurpose materials in new and interesting ways.


Look around you and think out of the box what materials you can reuse and transform into something new. You will be surprised how much we throw away what we could actually reuse.

Upcycling can also save you a lot of money to obtain new products or materials, as it often requires fewer resources and labor than producing something from scratch. Additionally, it can be done on a small or large scale. It can be done by you but also businesses and organizations of all sizes. There are many examples of upcycling projects that have a significant impact on waste reduction and resource conservation within many branches. These two lists are centered around the fashion industry but there are many more companies working to promote upcycling and reusing of materials.

But what is better than buying upcycled stuff? Right - create them on your own!

We all know what "repairing" means but in general it is the process of fixing or restoring something that is damaged, broken, or malfunctioning. The benefits for the environment and your wallet are the same as for upcycling so this paragraph will be not that long.

Many common household items can be repaired, including appliances, electronics, furniture, cars and more. There are many resources available to help you with repairing, including online tutorials, repair manuals, and repair shops. Some communities have "repair cafes" where people can bring their broken items to be repaired by volunteers. With a quick google search you can check if there is a repair cafe near you.

Some repairs can be done by yourself while others may require the help of a professional. There are many organizations, such as the International Association of Electronics Recyclers (ERI), that focus on responsible repairing and recycling of electronic devices. Of course we all heard about the fact that refurbished electronics can help the environment and it is an exploding consumer market. We bet there is a company in your location doing the same!
